Our Basis for Who We Are
We believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God and that in it, He reveals who He is, what we are to believe and how we are to live our lives as His followers.
History of First Baptist Church of Wolcott
The First Baptist Church of Wolcott was established in 1832, about 25 years after the town of Wolcott was formed. After membership increased, in 1889 the decision to begin replacing the wooden church building with a brick church was made. Later the classrooms, kitchen, and fellowship hall were added. This became what is now the present building where the First Baptist Church of Wolcott meets.
Organization
Our church is lead by an elected Leadership Team which meets once a month. Ministry Teams have been formed in areas such as Leadership, Intercessory Prayer, Christian Education, Missions, Christian Brigade Boys and Missionettes, Building & Grounds, Card Outreach Ministry, IT, and others, in order to do the work of ministry within the church and to the community of Wolcott and beyond..
